Gas Cylinders

Linde cylinder packages are usually made of high-strength steel or aluminium with a filling pressure of up to 300bar. Available in a wide range of sizes and pressures, from small portable packages to large cylinders, they offer high versatility, flexibility and mobility. Our cylinders can be delivered promptly or collected at one of our nationwide locations.

Cylinder Innovation
Apart from these standard bottles, Linde has launched a range of new innovative 300-bar cylinder packages to suit your different needs – GENIE® and EVOS™ family of cylinders.

Cylinder rental
Focus on your business - let us look after the rest. Renting with Linde has numerous benefits for you. By taking care of testing and repairing cylinders, and investing in latest cylinder packages, We will ensure you work according to the highest safety standards, with zero investments in cylinder packages.

Cylinder Safety
Linde gas cylinders are designed and manufactured in line with international standards and specifications. We will provide you with all the information you need to ensure cylinders are transported, stored and used safely.

Bulk deliveries

Large volumes of gas are supplied by bulk deliveries, either as a cryogenic liquid or a high pressure gas into storage on customer sites

Available gases

Bulk deliveries of
• Oxygen
• Nitrogen
• Argon
• Carbon Dioxide
• Hydrogen*  are supplied as liquid because it requires much less storage capacity than gas.

Delivery
The liquid is delivered by our dedicated fleet of cryogenic tankers into vacuum insulated bulk storage vessels that we usually own and maintain on customer premises. The stored liquid is controlled at the required pressure by means of an automated regulation system. If the customer process requires gas, the liquid is vaporised and delivered as a gas along the supply pipe. If the process requires liquid, it is delivered directly from the storage vessel through a cryogenic vacuum insulated pipeline.

The size and type of storage vessel and vaporisation is selected to suit customers’ individual requirements.

*Bulk hydrogen would normally be supplied in high pressure gas tube trailers. Deliveries are made either by direct pressure transfer to permanent storage cylinders or with an on-site trailer used as storage.

Taking care of you stock levels
Storage vessels and high pressure gas tube trailers can be fitted with telemetry systems to provide real time remote monitoring of stock levels ensuring product is always available.

Advantages
- Cost effective for high volumes
- Continuous supply
- No handling costs
- No downtime
- High level of consistency and purity

Drum Tanks

Sizes
Drum tanks are an intermediate sized supply package that commonly provide between 400kg and 1500kg of product contents. Also known as tonne tanks, drum tank size and capacity depends on exact drum specification and product density.

Product types
Drum tanks are a commonly used supply package for a wide range of low to medium pressure packaged gases. Most common products are packaged chemicals (e.g. ammonia, hydrogen chloride, sulphur dioxide, ethylene oxide, hydrocarbons) and refrigerants (e.g. R22, R134a, R404A).

Advantages
- minimising the need for cylinder handling, in changeovers and site transport,
- minimising space requirements.

Drum tanks meet the needs of customers whose demand is too high to be easily managed via cylinder supply, but not high enough to be suitable for delivery in bulk/ISO tanks.

Pipelines

Gases
Extremely large requirements of
• oxygen,
• nitrogen,
• hydrogen,
• carbon monoxide or syngas can be supplied via a pipeline or pipeline networks.

Oxygen is used in thousands of tonnes a day for petrochemicals or for steelmaking. Inert nitrogen is used in the chemical industry or as liquefied gas in food freezing. Hydrogen is used in many refineries in large amounts to improve the quality of petrol, according to legislation and carbon monoxide as a basic product in the chemical industry.

Pipeline networks
A production plant can be placed next to an individual customer or several production plants may be connected to a pipeline network which serves a number of customers located within the same industrial cluster or geography.

Linde offers standard and customised solutions based on our long tradition in the production of Air Separation Plants and HyCO plants for all industries and in a wide variety of sizes and gas qualities.

Onsite Solutions

For customers with a high demand for technical gases, Linde Gas offers on-site supply according to the ECOVAR® standard onsite solution concept.

Benefits:
• Gas supply agreement
• System consisting of a standard plant and a back up unit
• System built, installed and operated by us
• Portfolio of standard plants with high flexibility.

Partnering with us means
• Freedom to focus on core business
• State-of-the-art technology
• Maximum supply reliability
• Long-term cost efficiency.

ECOVAR® supply systems are:

#Economical
ECOVAR ® supply systems are built around standardised components to ensure maximum cost efficiencies. Standardised design and dimensions play an important role in cutting the costs involved in engineering, building, installing, operating and maintaining on-site gas supply systems.
Through optimal combination of production plant and back-up unit the ECOVAR concept offers solutions with minimal capital expenditure, operational costs and consumption of utilities, such as energy and water.

#Variable
The ECOVAR ® portfolio is extremely flexible. Systems and system modules can be combined as required to create tailored solutions that suit local requirements.
ECOVAR ® systems can be designed for indoor or outdoor installation to fit available space and for availability of utilities (energy, water and compressed air). ECOVAR ® plants are generally mounted in cabinets, on skids or in containers for fast, trouble free installation/commissioning and relocation.

#Reliable
ECOVAR ® systems comprise a standard plant and a back-up unit to ensure uninterrupted supply all year round (8760 hours).
Automatic control systems track fluctuations in demand, automatically activating the back-up unit to support production peaks. The back-up unit can also be activated in the event of a plant stop.

Both the production plant and backup unit are normally monitored by our nearest Gas Centre to ensure a reliable gas supply.

#Environmentally Sound
ECOVAR ® systems are more environmentally friendly than conventional supply methods. Product transport and energy consumption are reduced to a minimum by producing the required gas onsite.
